Here is the result of the RTI query: <<Sea Harrier crashes so far (based on RTI query) DATE LOCATION PERSONNEL LOST* 04/05/88 Goa Sqn Ldr V Mehta* 09/07/93 Goa --* 13/03/94 Goa* 12/08/94 Goa Cmdr KM Karnik/Lt Cmdr NS Rane* 09/12/94 Jamnagar --* 07/02/96 At sea (off Goa) Lt Arun Punia* 30/09/97 At sea (off Goa) Lt TSS Prakash* 25/05/01 At sea* 11/01/02 At sea* 24/08/03 At sea* 16/12/04 Goa* 17/05/05 Goa* 05/12/05 Goa Lt Cdr HPS Pannu* 26/12/05 Goa* 05/04/07 At sea Lt Cdr S Tiwari* 08/09/07 At sea (off Goa)>
And here is what was put on goanet on Dec 6, 2005 (i.e. with a two year data gap): <Military statistics indicate however that a number of Sea Harriers have been lost in accidents here. This includes losses during accidents in May 1988 (near Goa), June 1988 (Chengalpatu district), June 1992, Dec 1992, Aug 1994, Feb 1996 (missing during nightflying oversea from Goa), Sept 1997 (in the sea off Goa), Nov 1998 (in Indian Ocean), May 2001 (near Canacona, Goa), Aug 2003 (off the Goa sea). > We need someone to merge the two and highlight any discrepancies. As already noted, the last item in the RTI query seems to be an error as far as "At sea (off Goa)" is concerned. It would also help if the items can be fleshed out in stories which the lay person can understand. Cheers.
