In the anti-SEZ agitation, Dr.Oscar Rebello has said on behalf of the GBA, "We support ALL anti-SEZ movements". The Convenor of the GBA, from the beginning Dr. Oscar Rebello, is the SOLE Official spokesman of the GBA. I am only quoting him and communicating the views of the GBA via the netgroups. I am NOT the spokesman of the GBA. The GBA has only ONE spokesman. I am one of those who pressed for this decision .... because everyone was speaking on behalf of the GBA at one point of time. In case you missed noticing this, just a recap: # The Regional Plan was withdrawn due to the GOA peoples' PEACEFUL agitation [led by GBA] in December, 2006 and January, 2007. # A Task Force has been set up and has solicited the views of the public on the new RP-2021. the work is going on PEACEFULLY. # The work at Keri SEZ was stopped due to the KERI people's PEACEFUL protest on 06 December, 2007 led by Keri Nagrik Samitee and supported by other SVM groups. # The work at Verna SEZ was stopped due to the VERNA-LOUTOLIM people's PEACEFUL protest on 10 December, 2007 led by People's Movement Against SEZ [PMAS] and supported by other SVM groups # A seminar on SEZ was organised by CSJP at Caritas in 2005 and atended by various groups including Government of Goa, GCCI and NGOs. Now please tell me what exactly the GMAS has done besides conducting a BJP-dominated "SEZ Virodhi Yatra" and threatening the tourists in an already bleak tourist season for Goa.
