It is hoped thaty there is a quick remedy to the SEZ problem in Goa. The GMAS extended deadline to Digu Kaka to scrap all SEZs in Goa is 02 January, 2008. There are just TWO working days ... 31 Dec and 01 Jan. ... left to do it in. Will Digu Kaka get the consent of the Central "Board of Approvals" for SEZ to scrap the Keri, Sancoale and Verna SEZ by that date? The feast of "Three Kings" or Reis Magos or the Magi is celebrated as the feast of Epiphany, the day that Jesus Christ was first seen by the non-Jews, the three Kings from the East. One of them is supposed to be from India. In the villages of Cansaulim-Arrosim-Cuelim [CAC], from where hails our dear Matanhy Saldanha, the 3-K feast is celebrated with pomp. One boy from each of the three villages is chosen to be a king for the day. Dressed in royal clothes of yore, each of the three lucky boys is taken in procession on horse-back [failing which, on the back of a donkey ] to the chapel on the hill. I do hope the anti-SEZ groups do not start an agitation on that day in Verna, Sancoale or CAC. Today I was pleasantly surprised to find the chapel open with an ongoing mass.
