Anyone able to shed light on why it is that Goans are not employed in these
posts? Has everyone migrated to Dubai / USA / Europe that there are no Goans
working in these hotels, or is it that Goans have attained higher education &
gone into other jobs, such as IT etc?
In Mauritius, it is a similar issue, many local Mauritians do not wish to
work in low-paid jobs such as the service industry, so the hoteliers "import"
migrant workers to take their place, in warehouses, sugar plantations, hotels
etc.
But Goan is a State of India & I see that inward migration to one's own
country is not an issue surely ALL Indians have a legal & moral right to work
in Goa, as Goans have the right to migrate towards other parts of India
(world), to find better employment.
Am I missing something here? Its just about name changes is it?
