I have some good news to give to you.
Manohar Sardessai was the greatest poets of Goa,whose Poems sing whatever is
beautiful in nature.
He even has a poem which describes the marriage ceremony of.frogs(
"Bebecheam Casar) Some of his Poems sound like the Psalms.( photo goes by
the attachement)
But as he is not so well known abroad specially in the Portuguese speaking
world, some of his friends and admirers dicided to print a book entitled
as. "My Song.Ma Chanson..O meu canto"
He also composed a Hymn to our Blessed Jose Vas and even the first ever
Fado , in Konkani called "Sopon"( Dream)
The poems in French and English are his originals while those in Portuguese
were translated by Jorge Noronha, a Goan settled in Lisbon, who very sadly
is no more to witness the release..We are grateful to him for his endeavour
The book will be released on the 18th Jan -birth anniversary of the Poet -
at a session to be held at 16.30' at the" HotelMarvin"( opp to the Garcia de
Orta Garden) It will be presided by the widow of the Poet
