Initially the hearing was fixed on 3rd January 2008 in St. Xavier Hall Velim.
However on that day as the villagers of Fatorpa, Betul and Morpirla objected
the hearing on the ground that the hearing should be held in the affected area
the Additional collector Prasana Acharya who was deputed to record the hearing
indefinitely postponed the hearing.
At the time of postponing the hearing it was made very clear by the Addl.
Collector Shri Prasana Acharya that all the affected panchayat will be
intimated in advance. When contacted the Sarpanchas of Faotpa, Betul and
Morpirla panchayat they informed that they are at to receive any intimation
from the Goa pollution control board about the hearing.
The villager of Betul, Morpirla and Fatorpa claims that the notice period is
very short and seems to be fishy in giving short notice period.
