Dear Philip,
Mine was a tongue-in-cheek response to the "Trial Question Paper" for MP on
Goanet. Now that you have taken the airport issue seriously, let me state two
things:
1. The "20 year test" has failed to kill usage/users of Roman script for
Konkani in Goa [1987-2007]. There is no to believe that it will work for the
airport.
2. What happens to the TWIN airport issue now that the Sitaram Yechury [the
commies always wake up late!] Parliamentary committee has proposed for
Bangalore [BIAL-HAL], Hyderabad [GHIAL] as well as Kochi will be seen shortly.
The BIAL JV airport is at Devanahalli [God's village]...a good distance out
of Bengalooru [Bangalore] unless one wants to holiday at Nandi Hills or jump to
death at "Tippu's Drop". Its tryst with destiny is on 02 April, 2008 ...just
one day after the "April Fool"! Hyderabad's pride will be ghial [sounded] a
little earlier. Wait and watch.
Mog asundi.

<5. Would you prefer having a new airport for Goa or expanding
the existing one? Why?
A. We need a new airport for the tourists. The old
airport can be retained for the locals, if desired. [Miguel Braganza].
This is a good example of starting out (tentatively) in favour of two
airports but running the real risk of killing one of them. I doubt if
it would pass the "Two airports for Goa for 20 years" test.
The builder/operator will ask for Dabolim's head on a platter (with the Navy
egging him on) and charge a User Developement Fee of Rs 1000 extra per
departure to boot.
