Dear Ana Maria and Mario,
Is Christianity, a religion? To us it is not, its only a relationship with
Christ.
The Ten Commandments in the Old Testament was summed up by only Two
Commandments in the New Testament by Christ. These Two commandements covers up
all the Ten Commandments and much more.
Your comment, Mario 'it is an undisputed fact that the Catholic Church is the
original Christian religion instituted by Christ,
Answer: It is one of the many denominations, which started in the First
century. In the New Testament 'Acts of the Apostles' it is mentioned clearly
the First Century Christians met in Houses, worshipping God and proclaiming the
Good news, later on the Roman Emperor accepted the Good News, that God sent his
one and only Son into this World to save mankind by dying and paying the price
for our sins on the Cross'.
In the Old Testament it is clearly mentioned do not worship idols, catholic
Faith encourages worshipping idol, thus even the Hindus have reduced the
Catholics on par with them as worshipping idols. Christ has clearly stated that
God should be worshipped in Spirit and in Truth.
John 4, Ver 23 and 24. 'Yet the time is coming and has now come when the true
worshippers will worship the Father in 'Spirit and Truth' for they are the kind
of worshippers the Father seeks'.
God is Spirit and his worshippers must worship in Spirit and in Truth. From
this it is very clear and evident that idol worship is not what Christ preached
and sad to say that Catholism practices idol worship, contrary to Christ
teachings. Catholism is a religion which has a lot of legalism and moved their
focus from God's word which is the Bible. Christianity is relationship with
Christ, as he mentioned 'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can comes
to the Father except through me'. John 14, Ver 6.
Ana Maria's comments 'There is an occean between christ and catholics, Yes
there is a big ocean.

17:41:41 +0000From: Ana Maria Fernandes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>>I often feel that
there is practically nothing in catholic religion. It is just like any other
religion. I cannot understand why we boast that it is the religion instituted
by Jesus Christ himself .Practically speaking we catholics go for mass some
everyday, some on sundays. In the evening we say the rosary. We attend church
on Good friday. Celebrate hundred and fifty feasts. Receive sacraments, attend
cathesim classes and become another jungle parrots. There is an occean between
christ and catholics. Can you explain to me why you all say that our religion
is the true religion. >Mario responds:>Dear Ana Maria,>Just when Fr. Ivo is tak
ing a well deserved mental-health break from his exhausting philosophical
debate with Santosh, here you come to challenge him again:-)). I'm sure Selma
will forgive me if I take a crack at your dilemma from a simple layman's point
of view, who has often wrestled with the same questions but decided on balance
that I still belong here rather than somewhere else.>In my opinion, if you do
your best to be more like Christ, as hard as that may be, you cannot go wrong,
and you will be well regarded, in this world and the next. Isn't that what the
word Christian should mean?
