The residents and farmers of Gudi Paroda have filled a complaint before the
Collector of South Goa complaining that by illegally filling paddy field a
petrol pump is being set up in survey No.24/1 of Mullem village of Salcete
taluka.
The complaint filed before the Collector the villager/farmers claims that
by illegal filling paddy filed under survey No. No.24/1 a petrol pump is being
put up and the area in which the same is proposed comes under CADA zone as
the selaulim irrigation canal passes just opposite to the proposed petrol pump.
The complaint further states that they are cultivating paddy field adjacent to
the proposed site of the proposed petrol pump in both crop i.e. Vaigon and
Sorod season. The complaint further states that their paddy field will be
badly affected if the proposed petrol pump is set up due to emission of
petroleum substance which will affect their crop.
They also claim that there are residential houses and a chapel at a distance
of 70 mts from the proposed site .
