"Romi Lipi Action Front" appreciates "Fund Provision" to D.K.A
The "Romi Lipi Action Front" appreciates the Goa Government's gesture of
making a provision of Rs.15 Lacs, in the new Budget, to the Dalgado Konknni
Akademi, for the development of Konkani in the Roman Script.
Although, this amount is very very less , considering the crores of rupees
already spent by the Goa Konkani Akademi , during the last 21 years, for
exclusive development of Konkani in the Devnagari Script, it is at least,
"something better than nothing".
It can also be referred to, as "better late than never".
Let's accept this Rupees 15 Lacs as only a beginning amount , and utilize it
fruitfully, so that we can justify our "next year's claim", for a much
higher amount.
The "Romi Lipi Action Front", however, is of the strong opinion, that a
Legislative Amendment to the " Goa State Official language Act", to give
equal status to the Roman Script with the Devnagari Script , is the only way
to help Konkani survive, in Goa.
The people of Goa , under the leadership of the "Romi Lipi Action Front",
will hence, keep continuing their "All Goa Movement", for an amendment to
the "Official Language Act of Goa".
