Every editor of any paper reserves the right to edit what readers send, in the
interests of brevity and conciseness. May be the editors or moderators of
Goanet could exercise this right a little more stringently.

I can see now why you are confused in addition to being tired of verbose

Goanet is a worldwide internet forum, not a newspaper. There are no editors on
Goanet, just moderators who can either accept or reject posts based on the
Goanet Rules, which members have agreed to adhere to. When specific reasons
are given for the rejection, posters have the option of editing their posts and
re-submitting, or moving on.
>
Just as in a real forum, one is free to participate in or ignore a discussion
or thread, move on to another, or return to whatever else they need to do.
One is free to express opinions, such as a request for brevity, and some may
agree and others may not. Those who choose to be verbose have that right under
the rules of freedom of speech. No one is forced to do anything they don't
want to. In free societies patriots have given their lives for the right of
others to be verbose if they choose to.

What does take up a lot of space on Goanet is when posters post the entire text
of an article copied from the internet in addition to the link, without
identifying any key excerpts or making any personal comments in order to
expre,ss an opinion. This method of posting expressly violates a Goanet Rule.
