Report appearing on Sunday Weekender(GT) GBA misleading the public: PBC official
By A Sports Reporter [EMAIL PROTECTED] PANJIM: Sandeep Heble of Panjim Badminton Club yesterday claimed the Goa Badminton Association (GBA) and Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) was misleading the public on the Rajiv Bhargava issue. Bhargava, who was deputed by SAI to Campal to replace the retired Roshanlal Nahar, was sent to Ponda by the SAG. Briefing the media on the issue yesterday, Heble contested Richard Vaz's (GBA president) statement in a section of the media that Bhargava did not contribute in any manner whatsoever and that he had not offered his services to them during the Senior Nationals held here late last year. "When I inquired with the coach he informed that he was present for the Nationals every day but his services were never requisitioned by either Vaz or anyone from SAG", Heble informed. When contacted a SAI source confirmed that Bhargava had attended the Nationals on all days.Heble said that Prabhudessai let the cat out of the bag when when he said that Roshanlal had been of great help to the GBA during the Senior Nationals as the co-ordinator of the event. "Our members have heard Vaz tell someone that if Roshanlal goes, `amchem kaam konn kortolo (who will do our work)'. We submit that the only reason why the GBA wants him to continue is because he does the ground work for them while they go about enjoying the power and perks of the office," Heble said. Heble also questioned GBA double standards. "A few years back Vaz and Thakur (GBA secy) were part of a revolt of a similar kind. At that time they said that he was arrogant, not committed to his post, that he lacks the motivation to coach the children, that he is abusive and uses foul language. Now they are reported to have said they those were their personal views and not those of the GBA. If they agree to what we are saying individually then they should come and sign this letter once again in their independent capacities."
