Goa could have hosted an IPL match

Goa -- with its renowned Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru(ironically named despite
Nehru thought of Goans as cooks and butlers) stadium at fatorda (thanks to
francisco monte de cruz) could have hosted a single match of the ongoing IPL
(indian premier league).

Goa has hosted several international cricket matches, specially the one
wherein Dayanand Narvenkar had allegedly printed duplicate tickets to make a
fast buck.

If the right connections were used Goans would be part of this cricketing
festival. Despite hosting international and national events like IFFI, teh
current sports minister or Narvenkar could have used his clout with the central
sports ministry or BCCI to get a one day match, which would be the first 20-20
match Goans could have had the pleasure to be part of.

But i suppose the concerned authorities are too busy -- either making a fast
buck somewhere -- or trying to secure their kodels.

Great opportunity missed goans...hopefully in the near future Goans will have
the pleasure to witness a 20-20 match at the fatorda stadium.

  Kind regards
