Those with knowledge of music history (is there a Jerry Rodrigues on the GoaNet, last seen roaming in Toronto and a music know-it-all) could say this better than yours truly; the rendition style of William de Curtorim seems good ole style raap to me?
The avant-amaturish video apart (its quaint in my view), the song/songs of Bab William and his singing style are plain touching and honest, and I have been sending it to my contacts in high perches...saying, take a listen, this is talent! I trust some of you on the GoaNet may want to take a listen and pass this on....we need the next famous Goan; the last one popped it a over a hundred years ago (that slippery Faria, remember?) and we need the next very famous Goan and I see no one (yes, yes I am an impresario, with a talent for scalping Chelsea tickets) in the horizon! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXQ1_lwtjkY After all, didn't a bored Ry Cooder discover the Buena Vista Social Club quiet by chance (a loose gathering of forgotten musicians brought back to the limelight-theirs was a touching story)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buena_Vista_Social_Club
