Rajan dear,
Let us not be the peddler of petty falsities. Nowhere have I encouraged the
sale of villages to builders. Infact, I have several posts archived on this
forum that talk about making land a referendum issue, making provisions for its
conservations, ensuring the conservation of the "character of Goan villages"
which would disallow new builds in villages.

However, it is amply clear that a small band of misguided sociopolitical
jehadis, have their own agenda in the mix. What is unsettling is that personal
agendas are gathering momentum faster than a snowball rolling down a mountain.
And snowballs only end in one thing, avalanches.

I can see where you are coming from. You are the ultimate tree-hugger. You want
every square inch of Goa preserved in its pristine pre-1961 state. Well, that's
not going to happen. You have to sector the land into conservation, arable,
residential and industrial. You get to preserve parts of Goa, exactly as it
should be for generations to come but parts of it are going to be used for
development and industrial purposes. If not, Goa is on a very slippery slope to
that impending avalanche.

I predict if things go on this way, in about five years from now, Goan Youth is
again going to take to the streets, this time to ask the government, "where all
the jobs have gone?". Either that or they will be forced to leave Goa in droves
to find employment again leaving a vacuum in Goa.
