dear Sir/Madam, i would like to share my experience of Panchakarma Treatment at the Ayurvedic Centre Saligao Goa. i had recurrent episodes of sinusitis - along with migraine. i also suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. i had tried allopathy, homeopathy. i almost suffered for more than 12 years. and spend may be thousands and lakhs of rupees for treatment. but no permanent cure. i put on weight due to the side effects of the medicines. and there was also a mental stress due to the illness. i could not travel and i had to skip any outgoings due to the same. it also affected my social contacts. i was in a terrible condition when my collegue said to me that she has booked a ayurveda package treatment at ANHC Goa. she asked if i too would like to join her.
with lots of hesitation i thought i better take a chance with ayurveda treatment. we had email correspondance exchanged with the Chief Administrator Dr Sunita, and finally we were there at the ayurvedic centre saligoa after a good drive from the airport to the centre with Prashant, who did a little of seight seeing for us on the drive. it was early evening when we reached there. and Dr Sunita welcomed us with herbal tea, which started to make me feel good. she said that she has arranged for us a session of relaxing treatment and we could start with the ayurveda schedule from the next day onwards. we felt so good with the Abhyanga and Shirodhara treatment that after a good vegetarian dinner i went to bed and only when there was a alarm wake up call on the door at 6.00am i woke up with my body feeling energetic and mind fresh. i could realize that i had no headache which i usually had after a long flight. 7.00am and we were guided to the yoga hall where we had a good long session of 1 and 1/2 hr session of yoga exercise, breathing exercises and mind body relaxation. the yogacharya was good in his job. i always did jim exercise but could feel the stiffness in my bones, joints and muscles for simple postures. then on a real fresh fruit breakfast. we were told that we had consultation with the ayurvedic physician at 10.00am. we were guided to two separate doctors. i was with the chief medical officer dr sunita. she listened to my case history patiently. she put questions regards my life style and diet habits. she explained the pathophysiology of migraine and irritable bowel syndrome. dr sunita then said that there was a power point presentation scheduled for us the same afternoon. it was the first time i realised the imporatnce of the primordial factors viz, air, water, fire, earth and space which had to do with the health. and the disturbance of functions similiar to their properties causing disease pathophysiologies. i understood that my habits of late night working and late night parties accompained by alcohol and fast food resulted in the blockage in the sinuses causing inflammatory changes and the blockage was a hindarance to the passage of air in which case the rushing of the air through the sinuses caused migraine. wrong eating habits and life style pattrens caused defects in metabolism due to which the waste products were not formed properly which was a result of sometimes constipation and sometimes loose bowel movements and the undigested food substances caused inflammatory changes in the colon resulting in irritable bowel syndrome. after understanding the concept we were guided by the other physician with corrections in diet and life style according to our body type- prakruti and the line of management through panchakarma. panchakarma is divided into three phases and we were guided about the entire procedure so we were prepared for the same. the external ayurvedic treatments and therapies were so good that we decided to do it every year. panchakarma was done and the aftermath effects were fantastic. after a couple of days the stools were normal, appetite good, no flatulence and above all no shooting headache. i would recommend to all to undergo panchakarma since the vital requirements of life air, water and food to slowly and gradually build body toxins. i had a very good experience of ayurveda panchakarma treatment at ayurvedic centre goa india and the staff was very good. Thank you for allowing me to share my experiences with you all through the goa net website.
