~~~~~Opposition Leader Manohar Parrikar raised the issue stating around
seven-eight naxals from Jharkhand were active in Goa.
Parrikar, who chaired the sitting, said a naxal module was in operation here in
the mining belts. He maintained these people were instigating locals in their
fight against mining.He held that some of these people were involved in showing
video footages on how to make ‘koitas’ and kill policemen.~~~~
Are “koitas” some arms that are imported from the U.S. or Russia? Whose
technology is unknown in Goa, for Jharkhand people to give an audio-visual
briefing on know-how? May be Mr. Manohar Parrikar actually meant to say a
“Boomerang” made of metal? And may be these “Naxals” are hiding in the
mountain, caves or ravines?? Just a fortnight back Claude Alvares and some
photographers were menacingly threatened at a mining site, and the Chief
Secretary had to send the police on receipt of the information; are these the
same “Naxals” Mr. Manohar is talking of?
