Bigotry ........ is the word to be careful about, atleast in this space age.

Was Jesus Christ not crucified for criticizing anyone and everyone (parables) which went against people's sense of propriety? (is this the correct word?)

The movie ' Da Vinci Code'. created such a furore for nothing that even lakhs of rupees were offered for the head of the producer 'Dan Brown'. (In the bargain Dan Brown ran all the way to the bank, laughing at these morons :-)) And in the bargain x 2, in Goa, Churchill Alemao and other half-breeds got the electoral mileage. Also, as a result, I missed the chance to see Da Vincy Code in the precints of the new 'Inox'.

When on several occasions, where I have said that according to me 'the celebration of the every day 'MASS' is nothing but 'elbow exercises', am I not giving the bigotry industry a chance to crucify me? Should I care?? ...... MF Hussein, Rusdie etc ........ ?

When I say that entire Christianity is shrouded in mystery (and just as well) because these mysterious happenings, according to advanced science, could have been the good spirited halucinations of mastr story tellers and master story writers?. If science can prove that Jesus did not arise [Resurection] from the dead as is believed for the past 2000 years, the foundation of the entire Christian World would collapse?

So where is the grounds for a bigot to stand outside the cinema and protest, or bomb such cinemas, or want to stone MF Hussein, or to cut the head off the necks of Dan Brown or Rusdie?. We are told that, in case of Jesus, his very right hand man in command, Peter, saved his skin by even denying knowning or having anything to do with Him, not once but thrice, when, if he was a true believer, he would have led the whole bunch of Jesus' 'vote bank' :-)) into a revolt and assault, which would be a natural human act of addressing maha injustice. ( It is besides the point that Jesus had cultivated a more sedated vote bank wanting to be the sacrificial lamb for future designs, is another matter altogether).

Perhaps the bigots will 'shout' "what right does floriano have, to say all these things? But, does floriano care??. Floriano has the right as a desenting club member. Because believing in science is believing in God......... is what floriano believes in and not some over-done and worn-out rituals and defunct ceremonial suffocation which gets the modern society nowhere but on the contrary helps in creating more and more self-seeking bigots. Am I criticizing the self proclaimed bigots or the bigotry industry? Nahhhhh. We need that, more so to keep this GOANET ALIVE N KICKING :-)).

And the last word. Sandeep, you are responsible for the above outburst, but just as well. Much appreciated n thanks.

Cheers
floriano

Miguel Braganza wrote:

And Dr Anil Desai replied:
"It is alright to make any derogatory remarks that would be profoundly
offensive to thousands of Shiva worshippers and Hindus like myself in Goa
and outside, isnt it? Miguel, what should interest you to know is that
bigoted views of bigots are not just restricted to religion but apply to
politics as well. So, go on. Let us have more of your incoherent rants."

In the M.F. Hussein Judgment, the Delhi High Court correctly observed
that it has these days become some kind of a fashion to be offended by
anything and everything under the sun. Some time back, members of the
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were seen outside the Inox Multiplex,
passionately protesting against the screening of the movie Jodhaa
Akbar on the grounds that the sentiments of Hindus were being hurt. I
watched this historical epic and found nothing objectionable in it.
Not many took the protests seriously and the movie went on to become a
huge raging hit all across the Country.................
