John said:-
As I said previously (refer to Gaonet archives again), my parents were
European, I am European.  I lived and breathed Goa for nearly 11 years of my
life & have only recently beenable to regain my breath,
In one of my last posts on the subject of my 'parental heritage' I mentioned
this & more, and asked (at about the same time as others were discussing their
parentage & associated relatives, names / places etc) & received a post saying
that if my mother was an Ullah than she was from a very poor muslim background.
WHAT ?????

Hi,
Thanks for the above Info.
Too late in the day but still helpful to clarify that pure and simply, you are
an European.
Because of your JOHN, I mistook you to be other than European, with a Christian
name.
OR a Bangladeshi with Ullah heritage.
We at Guirim had a Portuguese boy as a boarder (for a short time), he was
admitted so that he could learn to speak English, not the school syllabus.
I now understand why you feel affiliated to people and the hills of Goa.
Good luck and sorry to have given you grief.
ED.
