Hi Everyone
You are invited to partake in this year’s World Goa Day celebrations!
At: The Friars, Aylesford , Kent ME20 7BX
Time: Mass at 12.30pm- please arrive by 12.00pm for a prompt start
Date & Time: Sunday 31st August 2008
Followed by a picnic in the grounds- feel free to stay until 7.00pm or leave
early
if you can’t stay till late
Further to my email of 23rd July, the following churches should have posters
for the
World Goa Day pilgrimage-picnic event on 31st August.
I think we can do better as there must be more parishes with substantial Goan
congregations.
Please therefore let me know if you have got posters and notices in your church
newsletters
and complete the table below. Let’s see if we can fill this list by the 10th
of August. If anyone
wishes to receive a hard copy in the post for their parish, please let me have
your name &
address and I’ll send you one in the post.
Also please don’t forget to forward my email of 23rd July to family, friends
and relatives
and encourage them to come along! The more the merrier!
I’ve attached the flyer and letter to Parish Priests again.

We will be planning activities for all age groups: ‘young’ and ‘not so young’!
Don’t forget to:
* Please bring a picnic lunch, drinks, picnic rugs/chairs and games along
to make it a fun day.
If you can bring a dish to share, please do.
* Have a go at making some goan snacks or goan sweets to reinforce the
World Goa Day
theme where we simply celebrate and take pride in being Goans! Feni is
permissible in
small quantities!
We would like the event to be peaceful but fun so we request that there isn’t
any alcohol over-indulgence.
* Please also bring your cameras and video/DVD recorders to capture both
the mass and also some
fun/funny moments at the picnic.
* Any ideas for entertainment and to add to the fun on the day are welcome.
We would like to
have a sing-song of both Goan and English songs. We’ll have song sheets
available and will also
email these out to you in advance of the event. So bring your guitars and
other mobile instruments
along together with your singing voices!
We hope to see you in large numbers.
