Hi Everyone

Here’s the final email regarding the Pilgrimage-Picnic on Sunday. Please read
it carefully.

Apologies for including anyone who can’t make the event and also to those who
haven’t
been in touch to let me know if you’re coming.

Please forward this email to friends and relatives

You are invited to partake in this year’s World Goa Day celebrations!

At: The Friars, Aylesford , Kent ME20 7BX

Time: Mass at 12.30pm- please arrive by 12.00pm for a prompt start

Date & Time: Sunday 31st August 2008

Admission: Free

Rosary and Benediction: Rosary walk procession at 3pm or you may choose to do
the Rosary walk at any time. The Glorious Mysteries will be recited as it’s a
Sunday. Do remember to bring your rosaries along. Benediction will follow
immediately after.

Priests will also be available for confessions from 11.45am.

Mass will be followed by a picnic in the grounds (Upper Picnic Lawn)- feel free
to stay until 7.00pm or leave early if you can’t stay till late. If it rains
we will have mass in the Relic Chapel indoors and the picnic will take place in
the North Barn which is again sheltered from the rain.

    * Thank you to all who have got in touch and especially to those who have
offered to help in some way. I’m still looking for a male reader and would also
like children to come forward to read the Bidding Prayers and also if they’d
like to be a Server, on the day. Adult Servers are also welcome.

    * The bus is virtually full. I’m awaiting final confirmation from 2 or 3
people by tomorrow. To remind you the (Red) bus which will also have
sing-song entertainment on board (!) will stop at St Boniface Church in Tooting
Broadway at 9.00 am and leave there by 9.20am; then at Norbury onLondon Road,
at the bus stop outside the Police Station around 9.30am and finally at the bus
stop outside the Fairfield Halls at 10.15am. The bus will leave Fairfield Halls
by 10.30am so please do not be late as we need to start mass promptly at
12.30pm.

    * May I please request that cars with spare capacity, please come to
Fairfield Halls in Croydon around 10.00am to allow any additional people
without transport the opportunity of a lift to Aylesford. I’m sure people
won’t mind contributing towards the cost of fuel. Likewise, those who have no
transport available, please congregate at Fairfield Halls and where we hope to
accommodate you in a car with spare capacity. We would prefer these
arrangements to have been made in advance through Rose Fernandes who offered to
arrange car-sharing. Please ring Rose on 0208 409 8388 who will be happy to
put drivers and passengers in touch with each other. Thanks to Mark Peters
fromCrawley for offering to provide a lift to anyone living in Crawley .
Please contact Mark if you or anyone you know lives in Crawley and would like a
lift. His tel no is 07970 230012.

    * I’m pleased to inform you that following a request from a few people,
Alex dos Santos will be pleased to provide hot food together with bottles of
pickles, sausages, etc for sale on the day. So even those who won’t be
bringing cooked goan food along will be able to buy some food or/and snacks!
If you have any special requests, I will be pleased to pass these on to Alex.
Or you may contact him direct on 07877 489 739
[EMAIL PROTECTED] com website: www.goanfood. co.uk. I apologise to other
caterers who may have wanted to be involved. Unfortunately the Friars isn’t a
place which can accommodate a number of stalls and we are grateful to them for
letting us do so.

    * Children please don’t forget to bring some bread to feed the ducks.
Please do not feed them until after lunch as they will be a nuisance during
lunch, otherwise.

    * Please don’t forget your picnic, chairs/rugs, your food 9if you don’t
want to buy food) and drinks. We hope to provide teas/coffees which we will
make available on a semi-continuous basis.

    * Those with any promotional material are welcome to bring these along. We
hope to make a table available for you to display your material. Maria
Fernandes has been in touch with me regarding a book she wrote entitled "MY GOD
OF SURPRISES: Memoirs of my Personal Journey in Faith". This 181 page book was
published by St. Paul 's in India in March 2008. Maria wrote this book in
memory of her son, Declan who sadly died in London in July 2005. Maria will
make copies of her book available (priced at £5) for those who would be
interested. I will forward Maria’s email to the Group with more details.

    * Sheena Castelino has kindly offered to help with any First Aid needs we
may have on the day. If any among you are Doctors, Nurses or First Aiders do
get in touch with me or Sheena (if you know her) to assist her in this vital
task.

    * Please bring your cameras and video cameras along to capture the fun.

    * Any one happy to entertain the crowd with a song, poem, playing an
instrument, dance, joke or comedy sketch feel free to showcase your talent!
