If every one whose dear ones die in hospitals or under the care of their doctors go on slapping and kicking them, I think our 'modern society' is creating 'mechanical garages' out of our hospitals and clinics.

Yes, in that case, one has the right to slap the doctor, like one would slap a mechanic who has stolen your money and replaced a bad part in your vehicle with another bad one, or if he has forgotten to check the brake fluid pipe for leakages, but simply refilled the empty brake fluid container; or any of the million things that can happen to a vehicle, leading to crippling accidents or even deaths.

It is sad to note that modernity and technological advances in medicine are creating a 'robotics' society, devoid of humane-ness.

The very fact that the mother of this young lady was in the ICU for a prolonged period of time is because she was very sick.
If we cannot accept this, then we are unfit to call ourselves humane.

Even if there was an element of negligience on the part of the concerned doctor, it is a matter for lodging protests and for the hospital authorities to conduct unbiased investigations. Besides, there is something called the 'autopsy' or the 'post-mortem' (for taking corrective actions that this does not repeat again) And it may turn out that the doctor was really irresponsibly negligient. And the internal or external actions will deal with such criminal negligience.

BTW1: Dr. Jindal, the Dean of the Medical College is right. Such offences should be non-bailable.

BTW2: There are plenty instances where the immediate member/s of the deceased have violently shaken the concerned doctors and cried on their shoulders "Why couldn't you save my .beloved............?" .Most often we consider our doctors the GODS ALMIGHTY. This is acute grief and this is acceptable

BTW3: I think it best that we should leave Sonia Mhambre's mother to rest in peace and Sonia Mhambre a lifetime to repent over her impulsive actions.

Cheers

Subject: [Goanet] woman slaps GMC doctor --- hats off to Sonia Mhambre

Dear Samir,

Do not waste your time on this issue. It is one thing for a NRI crab to attack Kevin and Lisette Saldanha on the Goanet and quite another for Sonia Mhambre to slap a Resident doctor at GMC in Goa.

Even if her 60 year old, chronically ill mother [she was in Intensive Care Unit or ICU for many days] died due to medical negligence, the Resident Doctor is not the one to whom the blame can be apportioned. I wonder if Roland is the type who would go slap the flight purser if the flight is delayed due to a technical snag?

Mog asundi.

If it can be proved that there was malpractice and/or negligence, the
doctor should be disciplined appropriately with suspension of his
medical licence. That will be enough to ruin his career.

Roland.

Let me guess. You are an NRI? Having made enough money abroad, you are now
whiling away time on Goanet?
Are you willing to write off the expenses?
You should stop giving platitudes that mean nothing.
