Thank You, Goans.
I, as the convenor of the Romi Lipi Action Front, based in Goa, take this
opportunity to thank all Goans for not loosing their faith, too early, in our
MLAs and Ministers, in the matter of recognition to the Roman Script.
The people of Goa, from all over the world, slowly but surely pursued their
fight against this grave injustice, and as a result today, we see so many of
our legislators come out openly, in support of recognition, to the Roman
Script.
Its never too late, to correct a wrong..
The proceedings in the Legislative Assembly, on the 25th August 2008, proved
beyond any doubt that , all the 40 MLAs of Goa, have now realized, that the
present, Official Language Act of Goa, has done more harm, to Goa & Goans, than
good,.
There is a famous saying, The wheels of God grind slowly but surely.
There is another famous saying, You can fool all the people for sometime, but
you cannot fool all the people all the time.
It is heartening to note, that even the Leader of the Opposition in the Goa
Legislative Assembly expressed his dissatisfaction at the Official Language Act
of Goa, in its present form, by saying What is the use of an Official Language
Act , that divides the people instead of uniting them ?
The people of Goa, in whichever part of the world they may be, should now
pursue this matter , unitedly, to the end , ie.till the Roman Script, is given
its rightful place, in the Official Language Act of Goa.
