Albert writes:- In the good old days a doctor's profession was a noble
profession. Today to be a dotor means to mint money. I have been told of this
incidence .A good nice man met with an accident and was brought to a hospital
by his friend. His wife was called immediately as the man was in ICU in serious
condition as told by the doctor and needed an urgent operation for which two n
half lakhs had to be first deposited .The wife tried to phone all her and his
friends and one of them responded immediately with the money. But before that
amount was deposited he said he wanted to see the patient. The doctor was
hesitant but when the party forcebly demanded they were surprised that the man
had already died around two and half hours back.
Another story I would like to tell you. These are real facts. Someone had to be
operated for the heart. I think you call it bypass surgery where a vein is
removed from the thigh and planted into the heart. The operation was sucessful
and it cost the patient something like two and half lakhs. within one year the
patient started getting pain in the chest. At that time he had moved to some
other state and saw another doctor and this time also he was told that it is
bypass. The surgeon over here was surprised that one bypass surgery was already
done and he removed the stitches from the thigh to find that a surperficial cut
was made and no vein was actually removed. Same thing with the chest.I beleive
there is some sort of nexus between GMC and Workard hospital in Bangalore where
small children are operated for the heart. I hope they are not just cutting
them to get money.
