To the editors of the daily news papers, would appreciate if this open letter of mine could be highlighted in your papers.

I have been an expat from India on this island for a couple number of years and over these years of working here I have seen how hard it is for us to come here to earn a living for us and for our families who we leave behind thousands of miles away.

The necessity of having a British visa to transit really compounds our situation. Having a work permit is just not enough a criteria but having a British visa to transit is a must.

My fervent appeal, request to you, your Excellency is to table this issue if possible at your high level meetings where by we expats from India can get a waiver to transit through London without a visa provided we have a valid work permit issued by the Cayman Islands Immigration looking at it from the fact that Cayman Islands is an over seas territory of United Kingdom and India a member of the common wealth.

Please consider the fact that during the hurricane season disaster could strike and have struck us here in the past. During these times for those of us without a Visa, travel or exit out of the Island is just a major hurdle. I do understand that this will be a high profile issue to handle but surely a word from you could open up our plight here and help us fellow Indians to make our thousands of miles journey a smooth and pleasant one.

With my sincere wishes and regards to you, your Excellency.
