Subject: Press Statements by Goa Su-Raj Party for kind favour of publication

Editor, Sir,

Re: Orissa State Religious Conflagration

The Goa Su-Raj Party while condemning the brutal killings of the leaders of
the VHP by unidentified gunmen, also vociferously condemns the unnecessary
violence resulting in loss of life and property in the State of Orissa and
sympathizes with the suffering people, hoping that the actual killers of VHP
leaders will be identified and brought to justice, quickly.

The Goa Su-Raj Party urges the Vigilance and the Police agencies not to allow
unsuspecting civilians and religious minorities to be targeted by the
fundamentalists organizations on scales like these who are waiting for a
trigger to relapse into disorder, destruction, rape, killing and mayhem for
which they are best known for, especially after the Godhra incident. The Party
feels the need for the Central Intelligence and Law and Order Enforcing
Agencies to quickly deploy sufficient number of para-military forces in places
throughout India where such triggers are made available for brute forces to
activate themselves seeking to destroy the image of the nation as a Secular
state.

The Goa Su-Raj Party is of the opinion that the Central Leadership must equally
share the blame for its timely inaction and for allowing vicious fundamentalist
mobs of people to exact their revenge on the entire sections of hapless
religious minorities that will surely and deservedly generate National as well
as International censure.

Re: Advani Suggest Fast Track Courts to try Politicians, Bureaucrats

The Goa Su-Raj Party heartily welcomes the formula given out by the Prime
Ministerial Candidate of the BJP Shri. L.K. Advani to have the national
circuit of fast track courts to try politicians and bureaucrats in corruption
cases. The Party hopes this formula sees the light of the day in the near
future and does not become a mere rhetoric towards the end game of trying to
get closer to the seat of the Prime Minister of India. This will not only clean
the national Augean stables but will unleash surplus cash flow of crores of
rupees into the beleaguered public exchequer.

However, the Goa Su-Raj Party is most disappointed with the performance of the
Goa BJP in this connection, especially the performance of the Leader of the
Opposition Shri. Manohar Parrikar, in the just concluded Legislative Assembly
where he was expected to atleast raise a feeble question about the major role
played by Goa's two most dynamic Ministers in the Goa Government viz. Health
Minister Shri. Vishvajeet Rane and Education Minister Shri Babush Monserrate in
the recently unearthed Canacona based land-scam which saw Justice S. Parab
summarily dismissed from service through a Petition filed in the Bombay High
Court at Goa by an enterprising lawyer Ms. Sudha Pai Kir. The least we expected
of the Leader of the righteous BJP in Goa was to demand the resignation of
these two ministers for their tacit involvment in the said land scam.

Thanking you,
