To,
The Editor,
Navhind Times.

Sir,

My only reaction to the above report is that India in general and Goa in particular must hang its head in shame for allowing road-side politics to creep into the sanctum-sanctorum of the 'higher education system'. If this is not arrested in the very near future, our prestigious educational institutions will be churning out destructive political ideologues and millitant cadres rather than erudite persons of higher learning who will destroy this nation through bomb blasts; burning/desecracting religious places of worship and killing, maiming, burning/burrying alive and raping innocent people. We have examples galore of the politically motivated university students having played havoc on the University Campuses. One of the sordid examples is in Gwallior, MP, when the otherwise perfectly healthy professor Agarwal died of a massive heart attack during the altercation with the BJP Yuva Morcha lead by student Tamta. If I remember correctly, the Supreme Court had appointed ex-election commissioner, Mr. James Lyngdoh to submit a report on the hard-core political involvement by students on university campuses or something to that effect. The determination of the Goa Su-Raj Party which I lead is to completely ban ' party politics' of any sort mixing with education, thereby banning internal university/college elections etc. on political party lines. Goa needs to heed to this advice and very badly too. 'Party Politics' and political ideiologies has its defined place which is definately outside the perimeter of Educational Institutions.
