Dears,

Frederick has a few valid points here:
1.Who is Eugene to tell the owner of Goanet to step down? That is an Admin Team
issue ....and Eugene is not even a Volunteer! Why should anyone even think of
such a thing.
2. Eugene's attacks on Kevin and Lisette were uncalled for. All he needs to do
is to organize a BETTER Convention ...and he would have made his point. In
fact, he should have organised a better Convention earlier , if he knew better!
;-)  I believe that whoever let those SPAM  posts of Eugene through, did all of
us Goanet subscribers a dis-service.

3 No2drugs Goa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on Drugs and crime and Save Goa <[EMAIL
PROTECTED]> on Land,Regional planning, Gram Sabhas and politics, are two
Goa-related netgroups that I have created and co-moderate with Pravin Sabnis
and others. Eugene is welcome to volunteer service here as a "Moderator" for
hands-on experience. ;-)

4.Talk is cheap ....  but can be dangerous in a face-off. Goanet postings are
both cheap and safe for some cheapskates.

5. I have replied to the "catholic sounding" issue ..... and Eugene is already
is an archival soup of sorts, it seems! ;-)

6. "Do something Yourself" writes Frederick. See offer at # 3 above. :)

Mog asundi.

Miguel

PS
Frederick normally accuses me of using asides and diluting my "main" argument.
Am I glad to see him imitate me in his asides on Cornel, Penpricks and Cecil in
his post? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Thanks. ;-)

Firstly, if we had more "uniformity" on Goanet, I doubt any of
Eugene's missives after the Canada meet would have gone through!

The Goanet rules are fairly elaborate on what
will or will not be allowed, and Goanet is committed to allowing all
points of view through, whether or not we agree with them.

To make all kinds of bizarre suggestions -- including one that Herman
'steps aside' -- is wholly uncalled for.

I wish half of these guys making all these suggestions had spent
one-tenth of their time in volunteer work (in Goanet or whereever).
Goa and the diaspora would have been a completely different place.
Talk is cheap!

Eugene raises the issue of my role as moderator on Goajourno.
On Goajourno, every post which is not off-topic and non-defamatory is
carried. The one Eugene claims was not carried (about
Flaviano Dias and Catholic-sounding names) was actually approved
speedily, and is in the archives here
[http://groups.google.com/group/goajourno/browse_thread/thread/6f8a502008c74999]
Could Eugene give some specific examples about which posts of his were not
carried? I'm open to a discussion on this on Goajourno or Goanet

Do something yourself, and show what you're capable of. I think journos like
Eugene should spend more time writing something of value to the community,
instead of going into infighting mode. We've seen enough of that these days. FN
