For Kind favour of Publicity: (Pl Check ATTACHEMENT)
India is the biggest user of Roman Script
Seeing the futile attempt of some sadists, who are trying their level best, to
stop the use of the Roman Script, for Konkani , in Goa , I am forced to remind
them, of a few facts.
These sadists have a preconceived wrong notion of the Roman Script, and they
try to impose their view on others, even when not asked for.
When all their attempts fail, they call the Roman Script as a foreign script
and hence, should not be encouraged in Goa, for writing Konkani .
This is a view of, frustrated and outdated minds.
More than 60 years have passed, since Indias independence, the Constitution of
India continues to be written in English (Roman Script).
More than 60 years have passed, since Indias independence, the proceedings in
the Indian Parliament, continue to be noted in English (Roman Script).
More than 6o years have passed, since Indias independence, the administration
in all Central Government offices, continues to take place in English (Roman
Script).
More than 60 years have passed, since Indias independence, the medium of
instruction in all major cities of India, is English (Roman Script).
Further, the number of schools and colleges in India, using English (Roman
Script) media of instruction, are increasing in leaps & bounds, with every
passing year..
A major part of business transactions in India, at national as well as at
international level, happen in English (Roman Script).
Hindi-Film posters, all over India, boldly display the name of movies, also in
the Roman Script.
Advertisements, of all products, in films, T.V, Hoardings etc., all over India,
are predominantly in English (Roman Script).
All this indicates, that the English language and Roman Script, have become an
inseperable part of Indias progress.
When such is the usefulness of the Roman Script, in the Indian Society, who are
these frustrated and shortsighted bunch of sadists , to stop Goans from using
the Roman Script for Konkani , under the pretext of calling it a foreign
script .
The State of Goa is being promoted as a tourist destination, nationally as well
as internationally.
Hence the Roman Script for English as well as for Konkani is the need of the
hour.
Only an enemy of the State, could oppose the use of the Roman Script in Goa.
I also know for sure that after reading, what I have said here , these sadist
elements will try to further confuse the people, by saying we are not
opposed to the Roman Script for other purposes, we are opposed to it, only for
Konkani
Why? Because Konkani is an Indian Language and an Indian Language, must have an
Indian Script ?
Sadists will always be sadists, because they do not want Goans, to grow
globally.
They do not want Konkani to be accepted globally.
These sadists are not our well-wishers but rather, enemies of Goa & Goans.
Other smaller States of India have progressed, because their leaders had a
foresight and they immediately embraced the Roman Script.
Their State languages did not suffer a bit, because of Roman Script, rather,
they progressed , because of Roman Script.
The following information may be news to some, but are hard facts:-
A) The Official Language of Nagaland in India, is English(written in the
Roman Script).
B) Ao Naga is also another major language of Nagaland and Ao Naga is also
written in the Roman Script.
C) The Official Language of Mizoram in India, is Mizo and it is written
exclusively, in the Roman Script.
D) The Official Language of Meghalaya in India, is Garo, and it is written
exclusively in the Roman Script.
E) Khasi is another major language in Meghalaya, and Khasi is also written
in the Roman Script .
F) Santali is a major language in West Bengal , Tripura & Jharkhand , and
Santali is also written in the Roman script .
G) Thadou Kuki is a language of a large population of Manipur in India, and
Thadou Kuki is written exclusively in the Roman Script.
No other single country in the world uses the Roman Script , for so many
languages, as India.
Goa is the only State in India, where the State Government is denying the
people, their right to use the Roman Script , for Konkani.
Need we say more ?
