Amendment to the Official language Act 1986, is the acid test for sincerity.
Shri Digamber Kamat along with his present co-alition Government and the vast
majority of his M.L.A s and party-men have said on umpteen occasions , that
they are convinced that an injustice has been done to the Roman Script in
the present Official Language Act 1986 and that they, do have the will to
undo that injustice.
The last assurance given by the Chief Minister Shri Digamber Kamat , was on
the floor of the House, during the recently held Assembly Session.
We have reason to believe, that the Chief Minister is sincere, about settling
this issue.
At that time, cutting across party lines, even the opposition party supported
him and agreed to fully co-operate, if the Government sincerely wished to undo
the injustice.
What better situation can the Government ask for?
For whom is the Government, still waiting ?
Any delay in tabling the Amendment Bill, will only raise suspicions on their
sincerity.
Come on, Digamber-bab, you have nothing to fear.
Do it in the interest of communal harmony.
Do it because its the right thing to do.
You have an opportunity to prove to the world, that you talk what you believe
and you do what you talk.
Whenever one does anything good , there are always, some frustrated elements
who criticize.
Dont worry for a second.
You are not answerable to them .
You are responsible only to the people of Goa.
The people of Goa will give those frustrated elements a fitting reply.
5 Fascist Institutions, cannot be allowed to disturb a democratic process.
The only Institution , among the 5, that had some peoples respect so far, was
the age-old Konkani Bhasha Mandal.
Even this institution , it seems , has now been hijacked, by some fascist
elements.
The Konkani Bhasha Mandal had so far stayed away from any sort of politics,
but in recent times it has left that image far behind and has let itself be
politicized.
.Its a sad day, for this, our ancestral Konkani institution.
The other 4 institutions, who have made common cause with K.B.M, the less we
talk about them, the better.
They are fly-by-night type of institutions, formed only to sow the seed of
communalism, in Goa.
The present Official language Act 1986 was one such seed of communalism
sowed by these same fascists, because of which Goans stand divided, even
today.
.Thank God, this communal Act has not been implemented, as it is, till date.
Implementing such an Act, would only amount to fanning the flames of
communalism
The Act has to be amended, at any cost
The Devnagari Script, is the natural script of Marathi.
It is not a natural script for Konkani.
It never was.
However, some sadists in Goa, want the Devnagari Script for Konkani, only to
kill Konkani.
On the face, these people look, as if they are lovers of Konkani, but in fact,
they are the greatest enemies of Konkani.
They are the anti-konkanis who still believe, that Konkani is a dialect of
Marathi.
They have a hidden agenda, to some day, attempt to merge Konkani with
Marathi, saying it has always been, a dialect of Marathi. .
Goans will never let these fascists succeed in their evil designs.
It is , hence, all the more necessary, that the Official Language Act 1986
is amended
immediately, to save our mother-tongue Konkani, from these fascists.
