Dears,
Everyone and his uncle is invited to celebrate the second birth anniversary of
JIVIT, the glossy Konkani magazine with half of its writer-contributers below
the age of 35 years and about 60% of them first-time writers. The programme
begins at 11.00 A.M. and should end by 12.30 P.M. The venue is Margao Municipal
Council Hall on the first floor.
There may be a short delay at the start because there are quite a few
politicians lined up... CM Digamber Kamat, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao,
Deputy Speaker Mauvin Godinho and some more present and past MLAs. Konkani is
the language of the Gram Sabhas and the Ganv and the Ghor: it is the voice of
the people.
Star attraction is Eric Ozario, the man who put Konkani into the Guinness Book
of Records ..... singing has no script, Just Konkani.
Come on time and spend a few moments with those, both old and young, who have
contributed greatly to the cause of Konkani in the distant and recent past. Ten
of them are being felicitated ...from a 96 year old to a 26 year old and all
ages in between!
JIVIT is in Roman script, the awardees are also those who write Konkani in
Roman script. There is no script for speaking ...just Konkani. All those who
love Konkani are welcome. The speeches will be in the language of the Goan
identity. Konkani, what else?
This invitation is on behalf of Michael Gracias, the Publisher of JIVIT. His
Mapusa connection is with St. Xavier's HSS.
Konkani uloy, Konkani boroy. Konkani enjoy!
Mog asundi.
Miguel
