I have just read the Times of India Goa edition. It is reported that the police searched Cheryl's car and found a chopper and a bottle of pepper spray. I trust the police will see this in the light of earlier complaints filed by Cheryl with them, that she had been threatened and once even waylaid on the road returning to Maina at night. I trust they will realize that she has to protect herself if attacked by goons from the area, intent on making huge profits from mining.
