My heart bleeds for Goa.How wretched and corrupt and lawless this beautiful
State has become!
When i read about the Quepem peaceful protestors being arrested and harassed
by the Police,I was really sad.
I know Cheryl ,I know the frail old mother Dora,and I was little Aki's first
teacher.How could the Police throw these hepless
women and this little child in jail? How could innocent people be treated
with such disrespect and ugly ,brutal treatment?
I was barely recovering from the shock of reading about the Quepem mining
incident ,when I read about Aires and Prajal being attacked.What is
happening to Goa?
We seem to live in a Mafia State with Mafia style revenge.I strongly condemn
the attack on the activists.All citizens of Goa need to come out on the
streets and shout from the roof tops -- we will not tolerate pressure
tactics and goondagiri.We live in a democracy.I sincerely hope that the
attackers will be caught and justice will prevail.I pray that Aires and
Prajal recover from the ordeal they have been through.
