Mario!

Starting a new thread and writing a long post was a pretty tortuous way of
telling me you decline my suggestion that you write a book responding to Joe
Conason.  As you well know, Joe's book "BIG LIES - The Right-wing propaganda
Machine and how it Distorts the Truth" was in rebuttal to books like "Bias" and
"Slander" written by the authors you mentioned.

I figured (from your Goanet posts) that since you are so good at responding to
responses, you could do the same in the print media while making some money and
Goans famous - all at the same time. In addition for the next election cycle,
instead of "Joe the Plumber" from Toledo, we could have seen "Goveia the
Go-Getter" from Toledo, Ohio.  But on second thoughts, I would rather see
"Mario the Moral" on Goanet; instead of another Republican Hack. So you made a
wise decision.:=))

You also did not respond to my question, so I will repeat.
To me (a conservative), the Republicans would be better off making the case of:
Where in the federal budget to cut?; rather than whom not / to tax.  I would
rather see Americans taxed; instead of borrowing the money from the Chinese to
cover the budget deficit. The latter results in forcing our children and
grandchildren to pay the debt ... as taxes. Now, is not that true conservatism?

But I guess you are following the dictum, "Those who know, do not need
arguments to convince; and those who refuse to know, no amount to logical
arguments will succeed."  Perhaps we could all keep that in mind as we engage
in some of the endless posts on the same thread.  So this will be my last post
on anything connected to voodoo.:=))

Mario was invited by Cornel on many, many occasions to, himself write a short
story.  Eventually he did: a cock and bull one, about Satchmo and some imagined
Air India Hostesses

--------- Mario responds:

Then, I would like Gilbert to write an essay on something he may be more
familiar with as a physician: whether Chiropractic or Acupuncture is better
than Orthopedics in treating back pain.  The next topic I would like to hear
from Gilbert on is whether homeopathy is better than allopathy in the treatment
of diseases, and whether either of these is superior to ayurveda or vice versa.

By the time he does all that, he will be far more educated and knowledgeable of
American economics and politics, not to mention Chiropractic, Acupuncture,
Ayurveda and Homeopathy, and the rest of us may all be thankfully on the other
side of the grass:-))
