Peter was a fisherman whom Jesus chose. He was with Jesus and spoke a lot.
There was one time when he spoke which was not within the reach of an ordinary
man. Jesus told him " you would not have spoken these if My Father had not
revealed it to you." He was Jesus' right hand. But when Jesus was arrested he
was with Jesus but at a distance. He was afraid of been killed along with
Jesus. He was afraid of revealing his identity and denied three times that he
knew Jesus.. Most of the apostles lay hidden for fear of the Jews . Jesus rose
from the dead and appeared to his beloved apostles. HE went up to heaven but
promised the Holy Spirit. Holy spirit came to them in the form of tongues of
fire. After that Peter became a roaring lion. Peter was wholy possesed by the
Holy Spirit so much that he could address boldly a crowd and make a statement
about Jesus Christ and even accused the Jews of killing him. Peter had power to
heal the lame and the sick. He had power to raise people fro
m the dead. Do we have the same power ? did we anytime lay our hands over the
sick and prayed over them and cured them ? we will not be able because we do
not have the Holy Spirit in us. My dear brothers and sisters mere praying by
lips will not make us come closer to God. To be bound to Him we have to raise
our hearts and profess our love to God. We have to forget everything and our
thoughts our feelings must be towards Him. We can convert the whole world into
a church. Our homes, our work place, our entertaiment grounds, can be the place
of worship. .when we work honestly and when we give time to others and help
others to be happy there is God. When we give what is to ceasar and when we
give that what is to God we are manifesting the love of God and we are
propagating the word of God. We are His priests. We become religious. One does
not need a seminary to learn the word of God for word of God is not found on
earth. Though it is written in the Bible it can very often be r
ead like a history .Word of God becomes a word of God only when the Almighty
God reveals the word to you. There cannot be any scholars of the Church who can
interpret the word of GOd as professed by many unless God wills it. No one can
boast that he knows the word of God, He knows about God, about Heaven for none
came to earth to tell us about Heaven except Jesus. So what ever Jesus has said
is truth.
