Miguel,

Using skin lightening creams may be "unfair" to your natural complexion, pun
intended, but the skin lightening creams are being used by Indians who want to
become "fair" which they somehow equate to good-looking. In the US we consider
"black is beautiful", and it is white people who spend an awful amount of time
and money becoming darker. Pretty amazing.

"Coloureds", Miguel? Tsk, tsk, tsk. No one uses that term any more,
especially in the US.

I'm not sure what "view" of mine you do not subscribe to? It was a "fact" not
a "view" when I wrote, "Perhaps you are not aware of the hundreds of blacks who
serve in elected positions all over the US, from City Councils to Mayoral
Offices to county, state and national legislatures, even though they constitute
about 14% of the population."

When you were describing what you call my "view" why did you stop at Governor,
when I clearly also included "county, atate and national legislatures"?
>
Neither did you explain why blacks being elected to every level of government
"cuts no ice". Facts are much better at "cutting ice" than fact-free opinions.

Obama is not the 'mixed' version of "The Great White Hope" ...and socialism is
not exactly the solution to today's problems. We need to create equal
opportunity, not a reservations and subsidies culture that breeds laziness and
corruption.

Thank you, Miguel. Well said. Someone needs to tell Obama that extreme
socialism has been tried and rejected and it makes no sense, especially if he
wants to really help low income people with real jobs instead of government
handouts, to drag the world's most productive economy over the long haul down
towards the least common denominator.
