The attack by terrorists on Taj and Oberoi hotels was no doubt a dastardly act. Please forgive me if I do not indulge in further platitudes. What surprises me most is that a handful of terrorists ( ten to be precise ) could inflict so much damage not only to the prime properties in south Mumbai but leave so many psychological scars on the Indian psyche. Are we sure that some foreign residents of these hotels were not themselves in league with the incoming terrorists ?
But what is more frightening are the geo-political implications. Last time such attack took place on our Parliament buildings, the Indian army was almost at the Pakistani borders. Suppose similar situation arises and this time Indian army marches into Pakistan and somehow succeeds in pacifying the bandit areas of Pushtoon speaking tribes, will the Indian nation benefit from such an adventure ?
