Drunken eves go berserk at airport HERALD REPORTER PANJIM, DEC 14 A group of drunk women caused chaos at the departure gate of Terminal 2C at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, early on Friday. They broke champagne bottles in their drunken stupor, forcing authorities to raise an alarm. The group of five or six foreigners was waiting for a Goa flight at about 6am on December 12. "They were very drunk," a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official said. The women were carrying three champagne bottles in their hands, near the departure gate. Following a fight among themselves, the women began flinging the bottles at each other. The corks of the bottles popped out, making a sound like gunshots. CISF officials scrambled, only to find pieces of broken glass on the floor. The women then started shouting slogans like 'India is the best' and 'We love India'. Since there was no security threat, no action was taken against the women, and they were let off by the CISF. A spokesperson for the Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said it was probably a minor incident, and that their staff was not aware of it.
