Perhaps Arundhati implies that when terrorism within stops the terrorists from across the border will stop their tit-for-tat games which perhaps began with the demolition of the Babri in 1992 by self-seeking politicians obsessed with power. Mario responds: Anthony, When I read your attempt to read the confused brain of Arundhati Roy, a far left wing polemicist with a long history of selectively manipulating facts to fit her preconceived agenda, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Arundhati has made a career out of defending terrorists and tyrants by misconstruing them as victims of something or other, and her concept of justice is badly warped. She seems clueless that, in spite of provocations like Babri Masjid and Godhra, India's 150 million Muslims are better off than in any other so-called Muslim country. The proof lies in the fact that they have chosen to stay in India as proud Indians for the most part rather than move to either Pakistan or Bangladesh. The only countries where average Muslims, who just want to make a better life for themselves and their families, are better off than in India are the new immigrant countries of Australia, Britain, Canada, NZ and the USA. Indian Muslims are always among those innocent Indians killed in the terrorist attacks, and most Indian Muslims were as outraged as anyone else at the Mumbai attack and denounced Pakistan in no uncertain terms and branded the terrorists as heretics and refused to allow tham to be buried in Muslim cemeteries. This is further proof of Arundhati's codswallop. Arundhati is also obviously clueless about the history of the Lashkar-i-Taiba, which sponsored and conducted the attack on Mumbai. This organisation has nothing to do with India or any oppression of Indian Muslims, real or imagined. Their only objective is to annex Indian-held Kashmir, by force if necessary. No looking in any mirror is going to address their grievance which will only be satisfied if India decides to walk away from Indian-held Kashmir. The only answer to such implacable terrorists with non-negotiable demands is to confront them with every means possible and make it untenable for them to continue.
