When I first came to Goa from East Africa at the age of five, I joined the Primeira Classe in our village Escola Primaria. I was familiar with English words but Portuguese was a strange language to my ears.
So when our Porfessora started her class she said : O cavalo tem quatro pes ".. I raised my hand and said : Prossori, tum sangta tem quitem ? Pat came her reply : Arre boilah ! boilac quitle paem assat re ?
