The corruption and fraud of the UPA govt is estimated
to be staggering for it is during their reign that the boom
times in real estate came to flower. There is also said
to be massive scandals and kickbacks in deals concerning
allocation of the telecom spectrum.
In Goa we need to look at the outside investors and their
ties to our politicians. It is time that people demand
investigations into the financial dealings of Babush
Monserrate, Vishwajeet Rane, Digambar Kamat and
a host of other elected members - ideally all the 40
sitting MLAs. The big mining magnates - Dempos,
Salgaoncars and others - should be subjected to
an audit.
Who am I kidding? India is a third-rate lawless
jungle of a country. But man is allowed to occasionally
dream.
