To set the record straight, Obama did not "flunk" it. It was Chief
Justice John Roberts who misplaced a word in the oath, saying: "That I
will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully."
The word "faithfully" is supposed to appear between "will" and
"execute." Obama paused awkwardly after saying, "that I will execute."
The chief justice gave it another try, but still did not get it quite
right, omitting the word "execute."

Out of "an abundance of caution," Obama was administered the oath of
office a second time on Wednesday at the White House by Roberts in
front of reporters.
