To Goanet - Dear JoeGoaUk,
Thank you for providing the photographs. Your effort is deeply appreciated. I shall make prints and hand them over to my Amicus Curiae. It is a measure of how degraded and debauched we are as a society that to get the basic laws of the city enforced we have to jump through these hoops for months on end. India is a third-world country for a reason and I mean that in terms of the collective mind-set of its citizenry. Besides JoeGoaUk, only one more response was received - that of VM de Malar who unfortunately had a prior commitment out of town. To the rest of you Panjim citizens who read my appeal and chose to remain inert, I say to you: Your day of reckoning will come, and soon. You and your children and your grandchildren will have to live in and with the mess that will be our Panjim city in the not-too-distant future. At the rate the ghatis are taking over the city, it will soon be awash in filth, squalor, loiterers, crime - and it will come to your doorstep. You will no doubt have the satisfaction at that time of knowing that you could have done your bit to prevent it but you instead chose to sit on your larded behind and do nothing. Remember, once the city is beyond the tipping point there will be no pulling back. Regards, r ----- Original Message ---- > From: Rajan P.
