GOENCHEA RAMPONKARAMCHO EKVOTT AND COASTAL PEOPLE’S MEETING
Cansaulim - Goa

Attend the public meeting to demand the following from the Government of Goa:

• Withdrawal of demolition notices to residences, work sheds and store
rooms of the fishermen and the Coastal people, within 200 m from the High Tide
Line, built before 31st December, 2007.

• The right to construct residential houses within 200m to 500 m from HTL
for the local coastal people by following all CRZ rules without recourse to the
Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF), New Delhi. The Goa Government along
with GCZMA should be the authority concerned with the licensing.

Goans need to be protected from being displaced in their own land by resorts,
mega housing projects and commercial building for which space is being made, by
denying the right of the local people who reside in coastal areas under the
garb of protecting the environment through the CRZ 1991 notification.

Come in large numbers to protect your homes falling within 200 m. from HTL and
to get your right to extend as your family grows within 200 to 500 m. from HTL
by following all rules of CRZ.

Attend the public meeting at Azad Maidan, Panaji on 17th March, 2009, at 3.30
pm.
