Raul Fernandes? ) [email protected] GIP : “The hotel (leaving aside the owners) is an Icon oF Goa “ MARIO : It may be an Icon for the RICH(illegal wealth accumulators) For me , a Goan(I hope others agree) , only because it stands on “GOAS” beach it is an “Icon”. It is , cannot & would not have been an Icon otherwise. GIP : It is owned by Goa and not by any foreign International Chain. MARIO : So let them continue to own what belongs ‘legally’ to them. They cannot and would not be allowed to extend to beach and in sea tomorrow & then own the beaches of Goa, which rightly is owned by every single Goan, the ownership being given by the ‘owner’ of this universe. So, noone should ever think of taking away the birth right of Goans to walk freely on any beaches, and we will walk on our golden beaches 24x7 in our ‘KHASTI’. Noone should dare not finger us , and dare not disgrace the beaches with your 5 star ‘SUIT’. GIP : The Hotel is equal to, if not better than, any International hotel Chain In Goa. MARIO : Which world are you living in. Goas hotels are not famous all around the world, but the beaches of Goa are. It’s the true lovers of Goa beaches who flock and come to Goa. Those who love to stay indoors in a concrete piece of decorum and do ALL things which cannot be done on open beaches but within the 4 walls and air conditioners come & stay inside ‘HOTEL”. These rich are very few compared to the millions who flock to Goa. GIP : The staff are fantastic and they definitely do not deserve to loose their jobs. MARIO : Goans are always in demand all over the world, check out the statistics in worldwide employment bureau and compare how many Goans are working in the hospitality industry. Bosco of Divar who gave his life on 26/11 in TAJ is just one of the example. GIP : One has to visit and stay at the hotel to experience it MARIO : GOANS need not stay in the 5 star to enjoy. God has given more than 5 star to Goans. True Goans do not jump in the tiny swimming pool, they have the seas; True Goans do not enjoy the fish cooked & served in 5 stars, they fish their own fish ; True Goans do not sleep in the comfort of the noisy airconditioners, they love to sleep under the swinging palms or mango trees or even the beaches; True Goans does not enjoy the imported lights in the garden , they admire the stars above; True Goans does not require walls(like the hotels) for protection, they are protected by their neighbours(I know they did…and wish they do….now) GIP : If you don't like it maybe one should move on....to another state ??? MARIO : This is the biggest blunder we Goans made , making & will make. We should STAY PUT in Goa and fight it. When I am saying this , it is applicable to me first and all NRGs. Difficult after we stepped out but not impossible. Yes we can survive in Goa just like our grandparents did and some are still living. Isnt it? SAMIR : Please do not patronize Cidade de Goa, a hotel that is built on grossly violating Supreme court guidelines. MARIO : Good suggestion, Yes Goans have to stop the Violaters, Corrupt, Illegal minds which seems to be growing in numbers & multiplying. MOHIT SONI ([email protected]) : I have stayed at Cidade De Goa and we had a 2nd honeymoon at that place, so I was shocked at first when I read your mail and then the blog. MARIO : So ,by chance, is it a boy or girl ? ha….. so only in this 5 star can you have a honeymoon? You must be kidding. I had several honeymoons and continue having them at every single place in Goa and all over Goa everytime I visit my lovely, beautiful Goa. So please get this out from you head that only this place can you have a honeymoon. SPECIAL NOTE : REMEMBER 5 STAR HOTELS WOULD BE ABLE TO FEED ONLY FROM WHAT THEY HAVE AND MAKE. BUT A FISHER CAN WELL BE ABLE TO FISH ONLY 2 FISH AND YET 5000 PEOPLE AND 4000 PEOPLE WOULD BE FED AS HAPPENNED 2000 YEARS AGO AND HAD THEIR FILL WITH JUST 2 FISHES. SINCE GOD WAS WITH THEM & CONTINUES TO BE WITH THOSE WHO TRUST HIM AND HIS MIRACLES. SO MY POINT IS 5 STAR HOTELS AND THEIR 40 FRIENDS DO NOT HARASS THE GOAN FISHERFOLKS & THEIR FRIENDS, BECAUSE THEY AND ONLY THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN WELL FEED ALL THE FIVE STARS AND NOT VICE-VERSA.
