Excerpt:

US President Barack Obama has proposed an increase in the nursing education
budget in a bid to end America's dependence on foreign nurses, a large majority
of whom come from India, China and the Philippines.

“The notion that we would have to import nurses makes absolutely no sense,” he
said at a White House Forum on Health Care on Thursday when a lawmaker pointed
out that America's huge shortage of nurses may mount to over 500,000 in the
next seven years.

Comment:
Actually what makes absolutely no sense in a modified free market system is for
the government to decide whether we need nurses or not, and to then spend money
they don't have, at the expense of all US taxpayers, on programs under the
guise of creating American jobs. This will also raise the cost of health care,
while claiming to want to reduce the cost of health care.

No one in the US who wants to be a nurse has any financial obstacles in
following this profession using a combination of their own money and private
bank loans.

After discouraging certain companies from hiring Indian computer specialists
under H1-B visas, this is another government policy that will harm India and
other countries who supply the US with goods and services.

The actual objective is to spend taxpayer underwritten money to change the US
free market system to build vote banks for himself and his political party and
to make as many people as possible dependent on the government.
