Yes, the Saptakoteshwar Temple in Narve (Bicholim taluka) is an iconic temple of great importance to Goan Hinduism. Yes, it is a Shiva temple. Yes, both Shivaji and Fundacao Oriente have left their mark on the temple. Of the many ways to get there from Panjim, my favourite is through Chorao since you go through some exquisite stretches of countryside. The downside is you will also see the scars inflicted by mining but you can't avoid that in any case.
