Hi Mervyn, You might have heard about the latest happenings in Orissa.
The BJD, the BJP's ally that governed that State (and peacefully
presided over the anti-Christian violence there) has ditched the BJP.
Now, it will probably get probably get super-secularist credentials
from the Left ... while, in the process, giving a setback to Advani's
dream of becoming prime minister. There you go, for the
religion-politics mix! And this can even be a "secular" affair. FN
