Hi JoeGoaUK, What you say is technically true. The copyright laws are quite stringent, and we may be violating them without even knowing that we're doing so.
Yet, this is bound to happen if (i) there is a huge or considerable price difference between the sale price and the 'piracy' price (ii) if there is a lot of difficulty in actually purchasing the VCDs in places where one wants to purchase them. It is perhaps time for VCD promoters in Goa to think of different revenue models, that would enable them to remain viable/profitable and, at the same time, promote local culture and talent.
