Dear Goanetters
Searching so far in vain to trace where my father's ancestors originated from. He was born in Sukker province where his parents had settled. My own father died in 1997, long before I felt interest in our family tree. My father's only brother was Father Ronald D'Souza who lived and died in Karachi. Could you advise me how to find out where my grandparents and their parents came from in Goa ? My grandfather, Frank D'Souza became a prominent Karachi Goan. He married Mary Menezes from Sangolda. They lived in Karachi until partition and then settled in Bombay where they died. I never knew them and did not question my father while he was alive. Any advice how to learn more without knowing much myself would be much appreciated. How can I contact older Goanetters such as Lenny Barretto who did know the family? Is Lenny still alive?
